Old Parish Church in Gornji Zovik
The architectural ensemble that consists of the Old Parish Church and the Old Parish House of St. Francis of Assisi is located in Zovik, at a natural elevation of 2,245 meters above sea level. The architectural ensemble consists of the Old Parish Church and Old Parish House and movable heritage that includes: five sculptures, a main altar, a baptistery and a confessional, as well as the facilities of a new church, a new parish office, a facilities with a religious education hall and other auxiliary facilities.
Construction of the church in Zovik (dimensions 35 x 18 meters) began in 1856, but was not completed due to lack of funds. The old church was built in 1890 and the old parish house in 1902. There is no available information on who the builders were.
Between 1982 and 1986, a new parish house was built, while a religious education hall was built in 1977 and expanded in 2010.
The architectural ensemble of the Old Parish Church and the Old Parish House of St. Francis of Assisi have been declared a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
